Whilst waltzing through the dining hall today, I stopped and chatted with one of the sou chefs/servers. We talked about our Thanksgivings and what we ate, and she told me that she made Apple Pie, baked inside of an apple! Now, this is something that I had never actually heard of, let alone thought about, but then I realized that the Apple Pie baked Apple (Apple baked Apple Pie? Apple Pie Apple? Apple Pie Bake?) is actually a very similar concept to that of stuffed bell peppers, pretty cool right!?
That conversation got me thinking, and now I am on the search for a couple quality recipes that I want to try. The possibilities for these desserts are endless!
Endless possibilities, endless fun, also endless recipes!
Here is a recipe that I found via Tablespoon.
Time and it only calls for 4 ingredients – excellent blend of an affordable yet scrumptious recipe! It Only takes about 35 minutes. That’s 15 minute prep time and 20-25 minutes in an oven at 400 degree.
Here’s another fun one from The Simply Life Blog:
In my opinion, this recipe resemble more of an apple strudel than anything – the filling just happens to be out into muffin tins rather than into a pan. Either way, these are super cute and apparently old vanilla ice cream really well!
Although there isn’t a particular recipe written down about which filling recipe to use, any one of your favorites should do – Grandma’s favorite is always a good one.
